FAQ

Not surprisingly, we're often asked for gardening advice or to recommend different types of plants for specific situations.

So here are answers to some of the more common enquiries that come our way.

I want to make my garden more bee-friendly. What plants do you recommend?

Bee-friendly plants include Lavender, Campanulas, Hellebores, Sedum, Eryngium (Sea Holly), Buddleia, Hebe, Mahonis, Weigelia, Honeysuckle, Calluna (heather) and Erica.  Avoid double flowered forms as these tend to have less nectar than single flowered plants.

Please do all you can to encourage bees.

When should I be planting bulbs that will flower next Spring?

Spring flowering bulbs should go into the ground from late September right through to November.
